PRINCE   EDWARD   ISLAND

  August 9th – 8:00 AM

Today’s journey will take us to Prince Edward Island , Canada 's smallest Province. Enroute a stop will be made in Pictou where you will be given some time to explore this historic town before boarding Northumberland Ferry that will carry us across the Northumberland Strait to Prince Edward Island .  Upon arrival we make our way to Souris where you will visit Station VY2ZM – 2009 CW Contest winner.  From here we travel on to Charlottetown . After checking into your hotel you will have time to freshen up and have dinner prior to attending a performance of “ANNE” at the Confederation Centre.

  August 10th – 12:00 PM

This morning you will have some free time for shopping and have lunch.  At noon we board our coach and travel the beautiful countryside to Cavendish and Green Gables ...  see the home where Lucy Maude Montgomery's beloved "Anne of Green Gables" story is centered.  From here we travel a short distance to Red Sands Golf Course, home of VY2RU station.  For those wishing, a round of golf is available.  Now it’s off to visit the Prince Edward Island Preserve Factory where Bruce MacNaughton, attired in his kilt, will come on board the Coach and greet his guests, and invite them in for a sample of his preserves and herbal tea that he brews fresh for each group.  It is getting to the time when we must cross the street to the famous New Glasgow Lobster Supper ... this is an experience you will long remember!  Those not caring for lobster may choose to have a hot roast beef dinner, Digby Scallops or a cold ham and potato salad plate.
